LANDSCAPE BUSINESS SOFTWARE / US
Landscape business software for US firms, kept in context
Operating-layer software for US landscape principals. Connect enquiries, estimates, crews, suppliers and invoices, with scheduling and job-cost context kept visible for human review.
The work between the estimate and the invoice.
A premium landscape project carries more than a field schedule. It carries the original inquiry, site observations, design intent, estimate assumptions, client decisions, crew handoff, supplier status, change decisions and invoice record. When those pieces live in separate places, a principal has to reconstruct the job before making the next call.
Lode is B2B operating-layer software for that office work. It connects the path from inquiry to estimate, crew, supplier and invoice. It prepares a next step in context. A human at the firm reviews it before an estimate, client message, schedule change or financial commitment leaves the business.
Who this is for in the US.
Lode is intended for principal-led firms such as:
- premium residential design-build landscape companies;
- garden and estate design studios coordinating consultants, crews and specialty trades;
- firms delivering high-value projects across several phases; and
- established maintenance businesses where recurring service sits alongside more considered project work.
The signal is not a particular state or city. It is the operating model: a principal or office team carries meaningful commercial and delivery judgement between clients, designers, crews and suppliers.
Local office work, made visible.
US firms may use different words and workflows for the same commercial moment. A client may begin with an inquiry, move through a site visit and design discussion, then receive an estimate with allowances, options, assumptions or exclusions. A change during delivery may require a revised estimate, written approval, schedule adjustment and updated invoice context. Lode keeps those decisions connected.
Scheduling is also more than dispatch. Design-build work has dependencies between design information, procurement, access, site readiness and crew availability. That is different from a lawn-route field-service model built around high-volume recurring stops. Lode is designed for the former: work where the principal needs the reason behind a change, not only the next appointment.
Many firms use QuickBooks, spreadsheets, shared inboxes or other common stacks. Lode does not claim a QuickBooks integration here. Bring your stack to a private walkthrough to clarify what Lode can sit around, which record remains authoritative and where review belongs.
Suppliers add another layer. Stone, plant, lighting, irrigation and fabricated elements can have different lead times, substitutions and approval points. Lode keeps supplier updates attached to the project so the office can review the consequence.
One control loop from inquiry to invoice.
Inquiry. Capture who is asking, what the site requires, what is known and what still needs confirmation. Keep source detail available to the person qualifying the opportunity.
Estimate. Bring site context, scope, allowances, options and assumptions together for review. Lode can prepare an estimate step; it does not replace the principal’s pricing judgement or approval process.
Crew. Turn approved work into a useful handoff. Keep access, design intent, client decisions, dependencies and schedule notes close to the scope the crew is expected to deliver.
Supplier. Link material questions, lead times, substitutions and commitments to the project. A human confirms a change before it becomes an instruction or a promise.
Invoice. Carry approved scope, changes and commercial decisions toward invoicing with a traceable record. The firm’s accounting process remains responsible for the final treatment and record.
This is not autonomous project management. It is a controlled operating layer for a reviewable next move.
Not for lawn-route volume.
Lode is not a local landscaping contractor or “landscapers near me” service. It does not provide landscape services or clone a high-volume lawn-route FSM. If the primary need is recurring mow-and-go routing at scale, a specialist platform may fit better.
Frequently asked questions.
Is Lode for estimates or quotes?
US firms commonly use “estimate”, but the important point is the reviewable commercial context: scope, assumptions, options, allowances and client decisions. Lode helps connect that context to the rest of the job; the firm owns the final estimate.
Does Lode replace QuickBooks or our current stack?
No replacement or integration is claimed here. Bring QuickBooks, spreadsheets, inboxes and other existing processes to a walkthrough so the operating boundary can be discussed accurately.
How is this different from lawn-route FSM software?
Lode is aimed at principal-led, project-based landscape work with design, procurement, crews, suppliers and client decisions. It is not aimed at making high-volume recurring mowing the centre of the workflow.
Can Lode send estimates or client updates automatically?
The workflow is designed around human review. Lode prepares the next step; a person at the firm decides what is approved and sent.
